Roman celebrates dual anniversaries in 2018

In 2018 Roman is celebrating its 55th Anniversary as well as the 110th Anniversary of the House of Fontanini.

Roman was started with humble beginnings in 1963 by current Chairman, Ronald T. Jedlinski. What began as a religious articles business soon grew to include inspirational giftware, Christmas decorations and jewelry. Today, Roman is proud to have 80 employees, more than 6,000 unique and inspired items, corporate showrooms throughout the US and customers around the globe. It continues to be family owned and operated with Dan and Julie (Jedlinski) Loughman now running the day to day operations of the company.

Fontanini Heirloom Nativities was founded in 1908 by Emanuele Fontanini. Fontanini embarked on his career of figurine crafting as a talented 13-year-old apprentice to an artist in Bagni di Lucca, Italy, an area of Tuscany known for its great arts and crafts. Fontanini expanded his knowledge and skills in art through travels to European cities and eventually returned to Bagni di Lucca to launch his company in a single room shop. Over the next several decades, the House of Fontanini gained recognition and acclaim for its work. Today, the namesake of his great grandfather, Emanuele, along with his brother, Stefano, have assumed the leadership roles. Fontanini Heirloom Nativities remain a much sought-after collection, prized for its lifelike sculpting, meticulous hand painting, and attention to detail.
